Rutilated Quartz Tumbled Stone

Rutilated Quartz is a striking variety of quartz containing natural needle-like and thread-like mineral inclusions, most famously rutile. These tumbles show an incredible mixture of golden, copper-red, dark and earthy tones, with some pieces also displaying green-toned mineral inclusions. No two stones are ever quite the same.

Rutile is a titanium dioxide mineral that can form delicate needles, fine threads, dense sprays or dramatic markings inside quartz. Depending on the piece, the inclusions may appear golden, reddish-brown, silvery or very dark, while other naturally occurring minerals can add further colour and character.

The contrast between clear or milky quartz and the inclusions inside makes every tumble feel like its own tiny mineral landscape. Some are subtle and wispy, while others are packed with colour and pattern.

Spiritually, Rutilated Quartz is traditionally associated with clarity, focus, confidence and forward movement.
